Rapidograph Pens How to care?
I use to have a pen rapidograph for several years … a day does not work any more. Then I discovered that require some maintenance … oops. > _> So now I have a set of Koh-i-noor rapidograph feathers. What kind of "care" they to ensure that I continue as long as possible? I've heard you should be sitting upright … Or was it vice versa? So are "pens, the round things all come with at? Thanks! : D
The round plastic things (with the rectangular hole) are the tools you need to remove nibs and removing the entire unit. Essentially, you have an ink reservoir, tube and weighted wire thingy that draws the ink from the reservoir to the paper. Maintenance periodically ask is that you take it apart and dip in ink cleaning solution. (Available in all art supply stores.) Some of these parties, particularly the fuse wire are extremely sensitive, so you have to be very, very careful not to bend or nick them. After soaking and loosen the ink dries, the parties may be washed with water and air dry. They are made of stainless steel, so they will not rust. FYI, once designed a "Care and feeding technique Ink Pen" manual.
