Comic books of the 70s – which was on the inside cover (front or back)?
I know this is a strange question, but here is the background story. I grew up in another country and spoke no English at the time. My aunt from time to time sent us care packages comics. I do not know any of the characters and then so I have no idea what company or what characters (Marvel or something else) they were. I remember not so much intrigue by their own comics, but on the inside of the cover were pictures of various topics, including flashlight, tent, canvas bag, etc. In retrospect, it seemed as if they were prizes for doing something (possibly the sale of comics or any other competition). I personally do not know anyone who collects comic books to order them, so can anyone here tell me what's the point of these things were undercover? I know it's a lot of information, but that's all I can remember.
it was an advertisement for a (or an American magazine Specialty GRIT) gave out awards (presumably children) rather than a financial reward for selling their products …
